A. NOTICE OF CHANGE OF PERIOD FOR FILING OF NOMINATIONS – EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AS WELL AS PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE COMMITTEE
This notice serves as an official announcement that the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) has rescheduled the nomination filing period. The previously announced dates of February 5th to 9th, 2024 have been shifted to the subsequent week, specifically from February 12th to 16th, 2024. Each day during this period will be open for filing from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The publication of duly nominated candidates is scheduled to be announced on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024.


It is important to note that the remaining dates remain unchanged. This adjustment is necessary to accommodate the time lost during the period when the ICTAZ membership application for registration and renewal was unavailable.

B. PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATIONS
Please note that the procedure for nominations will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the ICTAZ Act No. 7 of 2018, the 2022 ICTAZ Constitution and the ICTAZ Electoral Rules, 2024.
Specifically;

  1. Rule 7 to 13 of Part III of the ICTAZ Electoral Rules, 2024 covers the procedure of the nominations and the nomination fees to be paid.
  2. Article 12, Sub Article 8 of the ICTAZ Constitution prescribes the qualifications of Council Members.
  3. Section 40, Sub Section 1 to 6 of the ICTAZ Act No. 7 of 2018 details the qualifications of the Professional Ethics and Compliance Committee members.

E. ADMISSION TO THE AGM AND ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE
Please note that only members in good standing who meets the requirement as prescribed by the ICTAZ Constitution and the Electoral Rules, 2024 and holds a valid Practising Certificate and is registered for the 15th Annual General Meeting shall be eligible to vote.

F. ELECTIVE 15TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 15th Annual General Meeting of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia shall be held at Avani Resort in Livingstone on 5th April 2024 starting at 09:00 hrs.

Preceding the AGM under a theme: “Innovate, Connect, Transform: Establishing the tech industry as a Key economic Pillar” will be an official opening and a Conference together with sponsors Business to Business (B2B) as well as Business to Consumers (B2C) roundtable business sessions. The conference will be preceded by the CPD training. A mini expo will also be showcased for the duration of the AGM and Conference. Members are further advised that this is an elective AGM.
