Dear ICTAZ Members,
Government through the Ministry of Technology and Science has established the Office of the Data Commissioner. As you may be aware, in 2021 the Government of the Republic of Zambia enacted the Data Protection Act into law through Parliament.
Similar to other information technology-related pieces of legislation, the law has room for refinement.
From the above, ICTAZ has received a request from the Office of the Data Commissioner to help identify lacunas in the DATA PROTECTION ACT and present the Association’s views to help bring more clarity to the public and entities who will be affected by this law.
