ZAMBIA TO HOST 2026 TICON AFRICA CONFERENCE


Apart from the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) lifting the accolade of the Professional Body of the Year at the 2025 Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) Awards it is now set to host the 2026 continental conference.

ICTAZ members demonstrated exceptional caliber and capabilities, bringing home eight (8) prestigious continental awards. This achievement is a powerful testament to Zambia’s tech sector.

The 2025 TICON Africa Award Winners:

  1. SMART Zambia – e-Government Division – Public Sector ICT Innovation
  2. Christine K Chungu – Young ICT Trailblazer
  3. Matambila Karima Chuunga – Women in Tech Excellence
  4. Paula Nkandu Haamaundu – Excellence in Cybersecurity
  5. Musonda Kapaya – Excellence in Cybersecurity (Runner-up)
  6. Daniel Chibesakunda – ICT Professional of the Year (Runner-up)
  7. Musekiwa Moyo – Social Impact Through ICT (Runner-up)
  8. ICTAZ – ICT Professional Body of the Year

ICTAZ President Dr Clement Sinyangwe states that winning 8 prestigious awards at TICON Africa 2025 was not merely about recognition; it was a statement that Zambia has earned its place among Africa’s ICT leaders. It demonstrated that the standards, professionalism, and innovation fostered within ICTAZ resonate beyond national borders.

The 2025 TICON Africa and African Marketing Confederation (AMC) Conference brought together over 500 ICT professionals, marketers, policymakers, and industry leaders from 35 African countries, including South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, and many more. Hosted at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, the event marked another milestone in Africa’s digital transformation journey and served as a call to action for collective innovation and cross-border collaboration.

The theme of the conference was “Empowering Africa’s Marketing and ICT Industries: Innovation, Standards, and Global Influence,” and highlighted the urgency of aligning Africa’s digital transformation agenda with global best practices while ensuring inclusivity, local ownership, and impact-driven growth.

The 2025 TICON Africa Awards celebrated the very best of Africa’s ICT sector, recognising trailblazers who are shaping the continent’s digital future.


With 82 nominations from across Africa, the judges were faced with an exceptional pool of talent. The winners represent not only individual achievement but also the collective power of African innovation to create solutions with both local and global impact.
